So here we are another week has gone by, and I am still lagging behind in getting things done. I have been reading more lately though and trying to knock out some books. Right now I am trying to blow through “The New Oil Painting” because I am very interested in using oil paint for my paintings but I need to be able to do this in a solvent free manner so I have been doing a lot of research along these lines.
The big thing I am going to do is try out Water-Mixable Oil Paints, in this case Royal Talens Cobra brand as it in my research kept popping up as the best of the ones that are out there. I started purchasing some of the paints yesterday, I think I grabbed like 27 colors, and eventually I will get the whole color line along the way, just pick up a couple of new ones a week until I get them all, which might take a bit since there are around 100 now.
I am doing a deep dive into the use of oil paints, as I have also grabbed a couple of extra books to learn about technique and things like that. So once the paints all arrive I can get started in using them. I am still going to work mostly on abstract type stuff but eventually will be working my way to painting nudes hopefully before the end of the summer.
Beyond that just working hard at my regular job, though still looking for a new position and have a good lead on one at this point and I am hoping it pans out because it should get me back on track earnings wise and all that. Hopefully I will know more on this by the end of next week.
I am still stuck at above 200 lbs, but at this point I am going to blame this more on having a more normal level of test due to the HRT so my body is not giving up muscle and it is far slower for me to burn off fat and that is OK at this point. I would rather keep my muscle and get leaner slower anyway.
Just now gotta get my ass in gear and get my outside of work schedule set up so that I can do some drawing and painting on a more regular schedule going forward.
