Well I haven’t been here to post in a while, life the last couple of months has been extremely busy, and the biggest thing lately at least the last 36 days has been the gov’t shutdown, which has affected me in a slight manner, my wife has been furloughed now for 36 days. I do however get to go to work on the daily if you want to call it that, the number of people who are actually in the building is quite small in terms of how many people are here when there isn’t any furlough going on. My wife has been able to come back to work a couple of days a week as she is needed to keep processes going that would otherwise stop at her.
I haven’t had much in the way of time to actually create any new art either, that is 100% my fault for sure, but getting used to being back in the office and the time at home after work and then figuring out how to work in all that stuff I want to get done with the small amount of time I have post work and workout then I will have a lot easier time in actually starting to do some stuff. It totally kills me with the amount of time that I lose, you figure I get up at 3AM, workout, get ready for work leave for work at around 415AM, arrive at work around 5AM, work till 3PM, hit the gym and then arrive back at home by around 5PM, by the time I have eaten dinner and showered it is now after 6PM. That leaves me about 2 hours before I am ready to wash rinse and repeat for the next day. So now I just have to figure out using that small amount of time the best possible to get some art created and back on track with creating.
But hey, at least one thing I have got figured out is my fitness stuff, I have decided to return to my roots and just do powerlifting style training so I came up with a new plan which is 4 days a week, and I try and get that done in the early AM, hence the 3AM wake up time, 4 days a week, with my focus on the 4 big lifts (Squat, Deadlift, Bench Press and Strict Press). And then I add some accessories to each workout that go with the lifts and I am done. I get through each workout in about 30ish minutes. The post work stop at the gym is for cardio, as I am making sure I also take care of my heart health as well. The good thing the new way of working out is way better, with the lower volume and more recovery time I am making good gains strength wise and as soon as I get my macro levels and cardio straight I will get leaner while still getting stronger.
The good thing is at least the last time I checked the shutdown might come to an end shortly, which will be great but then again I am not holding my breath either.
This will be it for now.
David
